Headteacher Message

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the children, their parents and carers, families, friends and members of the local community who are central to the life of Longhoughton CE Primary School.

Our Christian Vision is that – Everyone is welcome.

This is founded in 1 Peter 4:10 – 11 “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of gifts. Use them well to serve one another.”

Everyone who spends time learning and growing at Longhoughton is encouraged to reach their full potential with couragecompassion and creativity to make a difference in the future. We are respectful of God’s world, working together to create a loving and caring community.

At Longhoughton CE Primary School we believe that enjoyment and achievement go hand in hand. It is our role, to help the children to become happy, lifelong learners supporting them to reach their goals and dreams and in doing so achieving their full potential.

Longhoughton CE Primary School is a happy place, with a nurturing, caring and supportive environment. Every child is special and we aim to create a learning ethos in which all children can develop an awareness of their own worth and individual potential. As you are the most important person in your child’s life, it is really important we work together to support each other in making this a reality. We strive towards working together in a partnership of trust and shared responsibility, to ensure that we achieve the best possible education and wellbeing for your children.

We believe it is important that as parents/guardians you feel welcome in the school. We will always make time for you to discuss any problems you may have and to answer questions.  By talking to us and sharing your child's education you will soon understand how we work and achieve our aims.

We are an experienced and hardworking staff with a very supportive and dedicated Governing Body.  Our Parent and Friends Association helps us with fund raising events and all parents and friends are welcome to join.

To this end, I hope this website will provide you with the necessary information you will need about the life and work of the school and how you as parents and carers can play a pivotal role as part of our school community.

The school has an open-door policy for new and existing parents, so please do not hesitate to contact school if you require a visit, information or have any queries.

If you would like paper copies of any information on the website, please ask at the office.
