Foundation Governors

Lynn Collins joined the Governing Body in 2018. She has lived in Lesbury since 2009 and retired from a career in the pensions industry in 2014. She is a Trustee Director of Northumberland Citizens Advice, studies textiles at college and has a large garden which takes much of her spare time.

Rev. Barrie Cooper started working life as a secondary school teacher in Mid Cheshire, for 3 years. He then completed Ordination training in London. and had a curacy in a parish on the edge of Manchester. After three years he became Vicar of St Mark's, Edgeley, near Stockport for 4 years. Then he had a call to Prison Ministry, which lasted for 18 years working in 3 different prisons. This was followed by a complete change; Chaplain at Durham School along with teaching again!. Barrie is now semi-retired now but working as Assistant Priest.

Rev Alison Hardy

I’m delighted to be joining the Governing Body following the retirement of Rev Ian MacKarill. I am the Priest in Charge of the Embleton Benefice just further north up the coast and working with the Aln and Coastal Parishes, which includes Longhoughton, on strengthening links and developing partnerships in ministry and mission.

I have been a school Governor for over 25 years, serving both community and church schools. My particular passion is for making connections between life and faith in practical ways, recognising our common purpose to support all our children in their development as responsible and committed individuals with a broad, compassionate and generous world view.

I’m really looking forward to meeting the staff and children and sharing in the life of the school.
