‘Strictly’ comes to Longhoughton C of E Primary School!

Once again, in the last week of term, the children of Longhoughton CofE Primary School entertained family and friends with a fabulous all singing, all dancing Nativity Story.

Strictly Come Dancing was in Bethlehem to tell the story of the birth of Jesus. Three glamorous hosts introduced the dancers whose performances were judged by Donkey, The Innkeeper’s Wife and Caesar Augustus.

The villagers of Nazareth performed a line dance which proved popular with the judges. This was followed by a stunning duet from Mary and Joseph, who informed the audience that their new baby was now sleeping through the night! The Funky Camels wowed the audience with a rap style song and dance and the angels stole the show with their ballet, which earned tens from all three judges. The Star and her Shining Sisters looked stunning in their disco outfits and really got feet tapping with their disco song and dance routine.

The final dance, a Tango performed by the Innkeepers was, quite frankly, breathtaking! The whole school, including nursery, took part and joined together at the end of the performance in a Hand Jive.

As always, our whole school family was involved in the success of the production. Parents and family helped children learn lines and songs as well as providing costumes, Let’s Get Cooking Club provided refreshments after the performances and the PFA, who had bought our new stage earlier in the year, organised the fund raising raffle.

A big ‘Thank You’ to everyone for all their help and hard work.
